Cinnaminson Republicans fill all 40 County Committee Seats

CINNAMINSON, NJ — A total of 40 Cinnaminson residents filed nominating petitions on April 2 seeking election to the Burlington County Republican Committee in the upcoming primary election, the Cinnaminson Republican Party announced Tuesday morning. April 2 was the statutory filing deadline for candidates to get on the primary ballot. The Primary Election is set for June 5.

Serving as official party representatives at the grassroots level, County Committee members select officers for both the county and municipal party organizations, endorse candidates, fill officeholder vacancies, and set party policy.

They serve two-year terms, and are elected during even-numbered years. Each of Cinnaminson's twenty voting districts elects a man and a woman to serve as county committee representatives.

For the 34th consecutive year, Cinnaminson Republicans filled every available county committee slot, according to the Cinnaminson GOP. Of the 40 who filed, 14 filed for the first time.

"Cinnaminson is fortunate to have such an outstanding group of civic-minded residents step forward to serve in these important leadership positions," Cinnaminson Township GOP chairman Richard Strobel said. "We're encouraged by their enthusiasm and commitment to improving the quality of life for all Cinnaminson residents."

Besides the county committee positions, the primary ballot includes candidates seeking the GOP nomination for United States Senate, House of Representatives, County Clerk, County Freeholder, and Township Committee.

"We strongly encourage all registered Republicans to vote in this year's primary election. Plus voters without any political party affiliation whatsoever can come to the polls and choose to vote in the GOP primary," Strobel said.
